Troop 146 Scouts kayaking in the Pine Barrens, May 2026. Stuck in a kayak traffic jam at a shallow point under a bridge, but they made it past the obstacle and continued down river to the stopping point for lunch.

Scouts paddled along the Mullica River in tandem kayaks. The trip was a challenging 6 miles on day 1 and another 5 on day 2 as the river level was low due to the drought. Scouts had to navigate around fallen trees, logs, sandbars, and current to reach our camping spot and pullout spots.
