Garbage Clean-up

Brothers Zachary and Noah went to the shoreline of Liberty State Park near the salt marshes to do some cleanup work for Earth Day. They collected 6 garbage bags full of Styrofoam, plastic bags, bottles, and other trash that washed up in three hours of work. For more information, go to this link

AAD Catholic Award

Four scouts recently completed the “Ad Altare Dei” (Towards the Altar of God) catholic scouting award and received their medals at the Newark Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart.

Food Drive

Knots

Scouts practiced knots and lashings at a weekly Tuesday meeting in anticipation for the yearly Klondike Derby, a competition with numerous outdoor challenges.

Blood Drive

11 scouts helped the American Red Cross run a successful blood drive that collected 34 pints of blood.

Seminary Trip

5 scouts recently visited the Immaculate Conception Seminary while working towards earning the “Ad Altare Dei” Catholic award. They received a tour from the Seminarians, attended evening prayers, and ate dinner there.

Urban Hiking Trip
